VE Day 75th Commemorations
The coronavirus outbreak means people are commemorating the 75th anniversary of VE Day within their own homes and in different ways. All public gatherings were cancelled for the time being but a series of events still went ahead in our Cam Villages to mark the end of fighting against Nazi Germany in Europe during World War Two.
There were 1940s picnics in homes and front gardens, socially-distanced wreath-laying, a two-minute silence, a re-broadcast of Winston Churchill's speech and an address from the Queen among the national events which took place.
With thanks to Rev Alex, Andrew, Edward and William for help in putting this video together which includes a short address, the "Cry for Peace", and The Last Post and the Reveille. Click on the image above for the YouTube video.
